Task
- Create an ultimate user friendly web site for holding the photo contest, minimizing the main content so as not to distract the users from the contest works.
Ideas and solutions
The international photo contest Russian Civilization, which is organized by the Federal Agency for Nationalities Affairs (FADN of Russia). The purpose of the contest is to harmonize inter-ethnic relations and ethnocultural development of peoples of Russia through drawing attention of citizens to the origin and tradition of the Russian culture. - The management system Django, which allows to get rid of unnecessary components, was used as the web site platform, which positively effected the usability and speed of the administrative panel. The user account of the participant is organized for each participant to be able to easily load its works on the web site. Besides, a possibility of multiple voting for one work from one IP address was excluded. Because each second person today has an account in one of social networks, an interface similar to the interface of social network was created on the web site. It created additional convenience for the users in their use of the web site. The photo contest was held for a long period of time and provided for continuous uploading of works, therefore a CDM server was connected separately for uninterrupted operation of the web site. Design: The web site is created in moderate colors and harmonically supplemented with the photo contest symbols not distracting from the main information, the amount of which is limited. The web site operation is based on fast and easy uploading of quality and beautiful photos. Therefore, the design emphasis is made on the visual content. There are no difficult integrations, the web site individuality is created by beautiful photos from all corners of our Motherland.
